Covering 37 international dance styles, teaching you authentic steps, arm and body styling movements, with fun-packed routines to catchy songs – you will be dancing, singing and smiling all the way through!
The SOSA philosophy is to be fully inclusive, so that EVERYONE can take part in our SOSA Dance Fitness classes.
In fact, SOSA is at the forefront of a dance movement to bring everybody into one fully inclusive class – embracing all ages and abilities, shapes and sizes.
We use routines that are adaptable for all levels of abilities, using teaching layering techniques with adaptations to cater for everyone.
You absolutely do not need any dance experience, or even to have attended a fitness class before! SOSA is designed with beginners in mind, and our routines will get you up and dancing, having fun straight away.
There are plenty of progressions to keep experienced dancers very happy too!
Our classes are high energy but low-impact, making them suitable and safe for all fitness levels – and I will walk through the dance steps for each routine first, so you’re never left struggling at the back!

SOSA with Sue – My Story
Many of you already know me as Starlets Sue and or Danceaway Sue…now I am also SOSA Sue!
I have been sharing my love of dance through classes in our community for more than 20 years!
Why do I dance? Because it makes me happy!
Why do I teach dance? Because I love showing people the happiness that dance can bring them too!
Where did I find my dance passion?
My dance journey began at the age of 11 with a family holiday to Butlins Bognor Regis when the World Amateur Latin American & Ballroom Championships were taking place. I ditched my family(!) and spent the entire holiday watching the competitors practise in the ballroom by day; and then compete in the evenings…
My dance passion was born!
The rest of the story!
I was teaching dance by the time I was 14 and had my first professional teaching qualification at 17. I had my own dance school, Danceaway, by the time I was 19.
Then along came Starlets when I couldn’t find a toddler class for my son that enabled us both to have fun together and made us both happy!
Fast forward a few decades…and I’m on a salsa dance-floor when I bump into Katy Barrow, a pupil from my first dance teaching job, who swears she remembers dancing her first Cha Cha Cha with me at the age of 6! Katy is the Founder of SOSA…
And it turns out SOSA is the adult version of Starlets!
With a shared ethos within our programmes – to bring happiness to everyone who dances with us, and to make dance accessible for all, there was no way I wasn’t going to embrace SOSA!
So now here I am. An ambassador and Pro-Team member of SOSA – ready to bring SOSA to our fabulous community!
Knowing that dance can bring happiness to others and spreading my love of dance is what I was born to do. And its the best job in the world!
